The Lady Terps fell just short of advancing to the NCAA Championship game after losing 8-7 to the UNC Tarheels. The Lady Terps had previously won 21 games in a row and were undefeated going into this game. When your 21-0 and get a #2 seed in the NCAA Tournament you know the field is loaded with talent.
The last time the Terps won a National Championship was 2001, which was there 7th in a row at the time. They are like the Yankees in that they are expected to win the Title every year, and anything less is a disappointment. So what, they are in a title slump, a lot of schools never win a single National Championship, let alone 7 straight in one sport. They will bounce back soon enough.
