Caps force game 7 Wednesday night back in DC. Thoughts from last nights game...
-Caps were outshot 42-24
- The Caps have been outshot in every game this series
- The closest margin the shots have been was 3 in Game 2 when they were outshot 36-33
- For the series they have been outshot 226-158. Pens are averaging 38 shots per game
- Caps committed 5 penalties for 10 min
- They're averaging 12 penalty minutes a game
- This was another game the Caps were lucky to win. They have been outplayed basically this entire series, and they were outplayed much of the first round against the Rangers
- Varlamov has really saved them. Anytime your goalies is facing almost 40 shots per game and you're still winning really shows how good he has been
- On the flip side the defense really needs to pick it up and try clearing the puck out of the zone once in a while! You CAN'T allow you're goalie to keep seeing that many shots
