Carson Palmer Speaks Out on Ocho Cinco

Me and the Flapjack have a favorite show, HBO's "Hard Knock's" where they cover all aspects of one NFL team's training camp. This year we are going to see the the Bengals featured on the show, however, we may not be seeing any of our second favorite pre-madonna wide receiver, Chad Ocho Cinco.

I'm still trying to determine how big of a deal it is when a player decides not to show up to "voluntary workouts", but I am coming to the conclusion that it is a pretty big deal. I mean even in college sports if I missed a "voluntary workout" everybody would be on your ass about it. You know why? There is no such thing as a "voluntary workout". Its just a loophole to get around rules that say you can't make a player practice before a certain date. It means it you are committed to the team, committed to winning, and committed to making yourself better, you damn well better show up. Now I understand you can get into "shape" with a personal trainer and I am sure Ocho Cinco workouts out hard everyday after he eats his usual 3 breakfast sandwhiches from McDonalds (must be nice to have a high metabolism), but there is a difference between "shape" and being "game ready". You can lift all the weights, run all the stadium steps, and drink all the muscle milk you want, but the bottom line is you still need reps with your teammates on the plays.

It is truly amazing that this f*cking guy who bitched up a storm last year about "wanting to be part of a winning organization" can pull sh*it like this. What the f*ck is wrong with all these f*cking wide receivers that bitch and need constant attention. Sounds like a high maintenance chick in my opinion. I understand why Carson is upset about Ocho Cinco not coming to "voluntary workouts", but look at it this way, you got "Lav" Coles, who is going to make you feel like your back at USC banging college chicks and dominating between the chains. Carson said he hasn't heard anything from Ocho Cinco, like everyone else, and he is just happy he has a few wide receivers there busting their ass to make sure Chad rides the pine come game time.

I'm probably getting a little carried away with the whole "voluntary workout" topic, but it really pisses me off. "Voluntary workouts" were created by split tails for split tails who think they can be good without practicing everyday. This pretty much starts when you get to college, if you want to be a f*cking baller, there is no such thing as the "off-season" where you can attend your "voluntary workouts" at your convenience. If I was a professional athlete and all I had to do was workout and practice all day and not have to do anything else, I could have made Tom Brady look like a f*cking JV bench warmer. Chad get your ass to practice before you become the number 4 WR on a losing team.
