Big trade rumors have been circulating about Jake Peavy going to the Chicago White Sox. The Padres would receive 4 players in exchange for 27 year old right handed ace with a 3.82 ERA this season, and a record that doesn't reflect how good he is. The only catch is Peavy has to approve the deal before anyone puts their house on the market, and this is a big question mark right now.
According to the 2007 National League Cy Young Award winner's agent, Peavy would much rather stay in the National League. Shocker, I wonder why???? Would you rather live in Southern California or Chicago? Would you rather face 8 major league batters or 9 major league batters when you pitch? Would you rather pitch in the worst division in baseball or against some of the most explosive offenses in baseball in the AL??? Either way he isn't going to be enough to carry either team to the post season, so he mine as well ask to be traded to the Yankees for cash considerations and pick up a World Series Ring. All joking aside, I don't see this deal going down anytime soon, although I'm on a terrible streak of predictions - Exhibit A: Last nights post during half time of the Cavs Magic game. Nobody's perfect, but I am pretty damn close.
