After a heroic Sunday performance in another beat down of Duke, on Tuesday UNC's Ty Lawson was named ACC Player of the Year. Florida State's Toney Douglas was the runner-up, followed by Lawson's fellow Tarheel Tyler Hansbrough.
First off, congratulations to Ty Lawson, he certainly earned this prestigious award by being the key cog on the #1 Tarheels throughout the regular season. Its a shame he is doubtful for the ACC tourney with his injury, because I love to watch this guy play. He very well may end up being the best NBA prospect of all the blue chip Tarheels, although he is up against some great competition.
Remember the last time UNC had this many NBA prospects on one team? 2005 is right, and they won the National Title. Look for Mr. Lawson to rest during the ACC tourney, let the Terps win, and prepare for a UNC run straight to the National Championship.
