Yanks Take Down A's in 14th inning

Melky Cabrera had a 2 run bomb to right field to give the Yankees their first extra-innings win in the new stadium. The Yankees bullpen was magnificent pitching 7.1 shut out innings, especially Jose Veras who pitched 3.1 scoreless innings to get the win.

The Yankees are looking strong at 9-6 considering Wang couldn't get out a little leaguer and A-Rod hasn't played a single game. All the pieces are falling into place in the AL East the way they normally do. Its only a matter of time before the Blue Jays slip back to reality, the Rays are in the cellar where they belong, and the Orioles are at the bottom as well. The Yankees and Red Sox are both heating up, and like the good ol' days it will once again come down to the rivalry for the AL East Title. We all know how thats going to end, Pride, Power, Pinstripes.
