So I touched on this topic the other day, somewhat angry with Hal's comments that a small portion of the tickets are overpriced, but I had one cocktail and I am calmer now.
I am watching the Yankees pre-game show right now, they are playing the Cubs in the second to last spring training game before they go to Baltimore to take on the Orioles in the season opener. This is the first time I have seen the inside of the stadium and I'm pretty blown away by everything. After swearing the other day I was going to save up for playoff/world series tickets, I quickly jumped onto the Yankees website searching for tickets to tomorrow's game. Unfortunately I can't afford to go tomorrow, but then I looked at some regular season games and came up with the old good news/bad news conclusion.
Good News: If you ever tried to buy tickets on the Yankees web site before you would know that if you wanted to sit in the awesome seats you would be sh*t out of luck. Reason being most of the ridiculous seats were owned by season ticket holders, so you would be forced to go to stubhub.com or ticketmaster.com to buy the already expensive tickets for 3 times their face value. However, I searched for tickets to one of the regular season games against the Indians and found a pair of tickets 8 rows back, directly behind home plate. Amazing...........
Bad News Bears: I couldn't afford those tickets if I sold all of my possessions and sold my body to the streets of the Bronx to desperate chicks at the local Bronx Cocktails Bar. This means the people who used to charge $1000 for a ticket on stubhub for a $150 dollar face value ticket 1. Probably can't sell the ticket for anymore money to make a profit and 2. Can't afford to front that money to attempt to make the profit. When I do spend 2 large on my first ticket I won't feel as bad because I will know its going straight towards the 27th World Championship and not into some scum bags pocket who doesn't appreciate sports at all.
Sidenote: If you want to be one of those scum bags and make a lot of money, lend me $2,400 dollars by May 1st and I will give you 1 ticket to every NY Jets home game for you to sell at your discretion. I take the other 8 and will give you face value for my tickets on a payment plan. The tickets are $110 face value and sell for $400 a piece on stubhub.com Email chrisumd23@gmail.com if you are interested.
