Nick Swisher = Gangsta

The Yankees have found their lightning in a bottle, Nick Swisher. Anyone from New York knows about the "what have you done for me lately?" mentality. And lately, Nick Swisher is doing a lot.

Home runs, RBI's, batting average, this guy is doing it all right now. If I was allowed to gamble, I would put $20 on Swish to win the Triple Crown. One day after pitching a scoreless inning against the Rays, Swish comes back and hits a bomb, and a double in a very close game against the scrappy Rays. His greatness could be the difference in this now 3-2 game in the top of the 9th inning. This means game over, cue Mariano and "Enter Sandman".

I would be cold hearted if I didn't give props to AJ Burnett who had a no-hitter through 6 innings, and yes I am probably the only person in fantasy land to own him and Ted Lilly, who had a no-hitter through 6 innings yesterday (genius).

On the topic of the Yankees, I think the Flapjack should make our follower "Ziggy" a new addition to the team since D-Unit is slacking off.

  1. I agree with Chris. I think I could contribute quite a bit.

We cannot dismiss the amazing game that Burnett pitched. He seems to have the "it" factor. The one thing that he does better than the rest of the yankees rotation is the ability to shake off runs. He gave up three straight hits and two runs but came back in the eighth and pitched a scoreless inning. The rest of the staff seems to shy away the second something goes wrong.

The other pitcher that has been a surprise is Brian Bruney. Bruney has been electric this year...it seems like only yesterday that I was screaming because we traded Randy Johnson for him...this guy has found his nitch as Rivera's set up guy.

Nick Swisher has been lights out...I am glad I picked him up in fantasy baseball..the yankees have done a great job keeping him involved in the lineup and with yesterday's bad news about Xavier Nady's elbow injury...look to see Swisher making a permanent home in right field.

Lets hope for another big performance from Pettite tonight...
