New Reason To Watch Girls Tennis

Mighty Vince Young

Remember this guy, hook em horns, National Championship, on top of the world. Every now and then I fire up the Tivo and watch that National Championship game against USC just to watch Vince absolutely take over the game and will the Longhorns to a National Championship (which by the way, the Longhorns are lookin strong this year for the National Title).
Now he is a backup QB for the Titans, trying to reclaim his starting job from recovering alcoholic Kerry Collins. Vince said the other day he is ready to play and if the Titans don't want him as a starter he may have to make a "career change". I think somebody could use him as a starter, the guy has a lot of talent.
If he wasn't making so much money and I wasn't so poor, I would feel bad for this guy. I also wish we could dig up archives of all the guys on ESPN who all of a sudden claim they knew he would never amount to anything in the NFL as a QB. If I remember correctly they all loved this guy after he waxed USC. Would it be terrible for analysts to admit when they are wrong?
Defense Wins Championships

I wasn't going to post anything about this until the streak ends, but I couldn't resist. The Yankees, best known for their power driven offense, are making headlines for something else these days; Errorless Defense.
That's right, the Bronx Bombers might as well each have their gloves spray painted in Gold, because they are killing it in the field. In last night's win against the Indians, capping off a 5-2 road trip, the Yankees surpassed the 2006 Boston Red Sox for the most consecutive games without committing an error. Last night's flawless game put the Bombers at 18 games straight with a perfect fielding percentage. How fitting we blitzed the Red Sox, we are just showing off now and letting them know we are better at everything. Championships, being clutch, and now defense.
I think the obvious difference here is Mark Teixeira at 1st base. If you watch the games every night you would notice he makes some plays on throws from Jeter, A-Rod, Cano, that Giambi would have let sail into the stands. Teixeira makes it look easy, but he deserves a lot of credit for this streak. Lets push it to 19 tonight against Texas. Go Yanks!

Next Up For Kimbo Slice

Kimbo Slice is a bad man! After he lost his last fight in Elite XC, he supposedly retired from MMA. I had heard some rumors that he was tempted about going into boxing. But now this! He is going to joining the MMA Reality TV show the "Ultimate Fighter." This time this show will be one not to miss. With UFC light heavyweight champions Quinton "Rampage" Jackson (who by the way kicked my ass in the UFC video game on 360 last night) and Rashad Evans would serve as coaches for the 16 fighters on the show. I bet Kimbo will be the heavy favorite (no pun intended) on this show. And given his personality, could also be a funny guy in this show. I will be Tivoing this no doubt!

Eminem Was In On It

"Yes, the Bruno/Eminem incident was staged.
"That's all anyone wants to talk about, so let's get it out of the way.
"They rehearsed it at dress and yes, it went as far as it did on the live show then."

Conan O'Brien's First Tonight Show
I've never watched Conan O'Brien and don't plan to. I'm more of a Letterman fan, although I don't watch him either. Basically the only redeeming quality about this video is that Will Ferrell is in it, but even he's not as funny as usual.
Google Wave
Ok, I know another technology piece... But it is that time of year! I am a little behind on this one but hey! Google just recently announced the development of the next generation of online communication/email called Google Wave. It is taking the ease of email and doing practically any form of online communication through Google Wave. My personal favorite seems to be the new and improved spell check and grammar check it can do (you can see this at the 44 minute mark in the video). I doubt most of you will watch this whole video like I did. But trust me on this, this is going to be sweet!
Gael Monfils Nasty Point
Unless you watch tennis on a regular basis you probably have no idea who Gael Monfils is. Even if you do watch tennis, there's a good chance you've never heard of him. Well, he just beat Andy Roddick to advance to the quarterfinals of the French Open. He's probably the fastest player on the tour, as shown in this point.

Microsoft Announces Project Natal at E3
Wow! I am almost speechless. Being a life long video gamer and nerd, as you can probably tell by most of my old posts, all I can say after witnessing this at E3 is WOW! For some reason I refuse to believe it will be this smooth. People were amazed by Nintendo Wii with the hand motions and such when it came out. But full body, and voice regonition that smooth. WOW! I am not sure when this is coming out, but whenever it is will be an amazing day for the world of video gaming!
Happy Birthday Big Flapjack! LMAO
In celebration of The Big Flapjack's birthday... Great weekend haha.

What Happened to the Blue Jays??????

On May 18th the Jays sat atop the AL East with a 27-14 record, riding a 4 game win streak, and a comfortable 3.5 games ahead of the Red Sox. The early season pressure built up for Toronto and exploded over the next 9 games.
Swept by 3 teams: Boston, Atlanta, Baltimore
Outscored 53-23 by their opponents
Shutout once, and allowed double digit run totals against them in two games (10, 12 runs)
On May 28th the Jays found themselves 2 games out of 1st place with a 27-23 record. Nice work boys, leave the AL East fight for the heavy hitters (Red Sox, Yankees) and try to stay out of the way for the rest of the season.
Ironically the team that started the 9 game losing streak ended it, Boston (figures), with the Jays winning 6-3.
New Moon Trailer
I'm not a 12 year old girl, so I didn't see the first Twilight movie. I'm not sure I understand the obsession with this Robert Pattinson guy either? He's really pale, has no muscle tone, and has a rat's nest for a head of hair.
However, this trailer looks somewhat entertaining. Anything with vampires and a werewolf can't be that bad, can it?
Indians Get a Call, Yankees Drop a Game

When in hell did Carl Pavano decide to start pitching like a major league pitcher again?? A quality start from Carl, which added insult to injury for me in this game.
Anyway, Mark Teixeira has already proven that he is a "Yankee" in my mind. We would have won the damn game if it wasn't for a terrible call by the 1st base umpire ruling Jeter out, when he was clearly safe. Once again the young guns in the bullpen showed our glaring weakness. Not a lot of people noticed their inability to throw strikes because they were coming in when the score was 9-2. If you can't throw strikes when your blowing someone out, you sure as hell won't be able to in a close game.
Oh well, today is another day, and we can still take the series against the Tribe 3-1 with a win today. Lets hope Joba settles in early and gets a few more outs on contact, instead of striking every batter out on 20 pitches, so he can go further into the game.
Eminem Storms Out Of MTV Movie Awards
I couldn't tell if this was fake (Eminem was in on it) and just an attempt to get more publicity for the movie or if Eminem was actually caught off guard and really pissed. Either way his reaction was priceless.
Barkley Calls His Producer a P*ssy
Nice work, Barkley! Somebody please tell Reggie Miller to calm the f*ck down.
