Flapjack Sports Quote of the Day

Our quote of the day comes from Washington Nationals Manager Manny Acta, these are his comments regarding Elijah Dukes $500 fine for showing up late to practice before a game because of his appearance at Great Falls Little League.

"He was very remorseful about it. He felt bad, but we have to lay down the law. Regardless of who is out there, we are still losing ballgames. We have to change the culture somehow."
Thats great scumbag, now the freaking little league is paying for the fine out of their own pocket to show how much they appreciated Elijah Dukes appearance and to prove your a loser just like your team of flunkies (2-10). Wilbon said yesterday on PTI between this and the uniform incident (NATINALS ???) this team is the biggest embarassment across the board in all 4 major sports.

Flapjack Sports Quote of the Day

"I'm a game connoisseur, so I know how nasty Sloan was when he was playing," he said. "Pardon my French, but your [rear] would be kicked out of the league if you played that physical now. I'm sure he's using it as a motivational tool to get those guys to play even harder."
Motivational tool or not, the Lakers are going to sweep the Jazz no matter how physical Sloan tries to get them to play.

Flapjack Sports Quote of the Day

Our Flapjack Sports Quote of the Day comes from one of the best coaches ever, Bobby Knight. If I could be half the coach this guy was I would consider myself a success. Now, "Get em' Bobby":

"When my time on earth is gone, and my activities here are passed, I want they bury me upside down , and my critics can kiss my ass!"

Pure genius, lookin sharp on the SI cover too.

Flapjack Sports Quote of the Day

Our Flapjack Sports quote of the day, in honor of the start of the NBA Playoffs, comes from our man Shaq Diesel. The Celtics could use him right now with KG in a suit and tie on the bench, I can't wait until they get bounced in the first round.

"I'm tired of hearing about money, money, money, money, money. I just want to play the game, drink Pepsi, wear Reebok."

Well said Diesel, well said. Don't worry, while the bossman is off this weekend, the commoners will hold down the Flapjack. Remember, if its sports its on the Flapjack.

Flapjack Sports Quote of the Day

Thats right, The Flapjack is launching a new feature, "Flapjack Sports Quote of the Day", serious quotes, funny quotes, if its sports, its on The Flapjack. Today's quote is courtesy of one of the Yankee greats, Yogi Berra.
Yogi always tells it how it is:
"I never blame myself when I'm not hitting. I just blame the bat and if it keeps up, I change bats. After all, if I know it isn't my fault that I'm not hitting, how can I get mad at myself?"
Maybe Yankees replacement 3rd baseman Cody Ransom should adopt this method.
