Duke Basketball Still Sucks

Just when you thought Duke basketball couldn't get any gayer, they go and put out a commercial like this.

"When you come from a man to man program..." I guess no other team in the country plays man to man defense, Coach K. You're such an innovator...we're going to play man to man defense this season and that will help you go to the NBA. Good thinking!

You only have 2 choices Coach Dick! Man to Man or Zone! It's not like there are hundreds of options out there for you to choose from. And I'm pretty sure 95% of the schools in the country play predominately man to man defense.

But you invented it Coach K, you're the originator, you're the greatest!

I'm not sure what the hell Coach K was doing on the Colbert Report, but from what I hear the ratings dropped 25% during this episode. Could Coach K be any more dull or boring? He managed to make arguably the funniest show on Comedy Central and make it excruciatingly painful to watch. Way to plug that new book of yours too...looks like a great read. Although didn't they misspell the title? Shouldn't it be "The Gay Standard" ???

John Wall = Pretty Sick

I really don't know anything about John Wall, other than the fact that he's probably the best high school player in the country and he's now trying to go pro. He looks pretty nasty in the video above, although you never really see his shooting ability and he is playing against tiny, slow white kids.

Billy Gillispie = Terrible

When Jodie Meeks scored 54 points against Tennessee this past season, most people thought of it as a pretty big deal. So big of a deal, in fact, that Nike decided to send Billy Gillispie and Kentucky commemorative t-shirts to acknowledge the special occasion.
What's the big deal, you ask? Most would think that the coach would be proud of his player and team, and would hand the shirts out with pride as soon as they arrived. Not Billy. He decided to hoard these t-shirts and hand them out 3 months later after the season had concluded.
So, apparently Billy Gillispie is a douchebag and should never get another big time college coaching job again. He took one of the best guard/big men combinations in the country and led them to an early exit from the NIT. Nice job Billy, keep up the good work.

Florida International Lands Isiah Thomas - For Free!

Congratulations to FIU for getting Isiah Thomas as their new Head Basketball Coach! Lets evaluate Isiah and predict his coaching success at the college level.

Recruiting: Since FIU blows, Isiah is going to have to bring in some talent. The Knicks had to pay some chick 11 million dollars because she claimed she was sexually harassed by Mr. Thomas. I figure he can make some house visits, grope some breasts and squeeze some asses of the mothers of blue chip recruits and the National Letter of Intents will be flowing. Also, Isiah has a unique ability when it comes to identifying talent. Bringing in Stephon Marbury worked out real well for the Knicks. Grade: F

Coaching: The Knicks were 23-59 under Isiah Thomas. 36 games under .500 and a completely broken team. Lets just say the Knicks had a trash team, which they did, and its not completely his fault. Also, Isiah was a great player and in theory has a great knowledge of the game. Grade: C+

Intangibles: He obvioulsy likes challenges (he took the Knicks job), and FIU was 13-20 last year. He also either really likes drugs or really dislikes life because he overdosed on sleeping pills. He better wake his ass up if he is going to do anything with this job. Grade: F

Overall: I don't think putting a guy who was suspected of sexual harassment on a college campus in Florida is going to do him or your school any good. I see the future: FIU gets blown out by Western Kentucky, Isiah pops some pills and drinks some beers at a college party, tries to hook up with a freshman, gets fired. Final Grade: F
