#1 - Adrian Peterson: '08 - 1,760 yds 10 tds. 125 rec yds.
Really not much to say here, he's a stud. Assuming they land Favre that should open up even more running room for AP. Either way, he's a monster. Take him with confidence...obviously.
2009 prediction - 1,665 yds 13 tds. 140 rec yds 1 td.
#2 - Michael Turner: '08 - 1,699 yds 17 tds. 41 rec yds.
I like Turner better than Jones-Drew because of his offense. Matt Ryan and the Falcons offense is legit and there should be plenty of room for Turner to run again. He should put up very similar numbers to last year, although I don't expect him to match the 376 carries he had.
2009 prediction - 1,470 yds 14 tds. 60 rec yds.
#3 - Maurice Jones-Drew: '08 - 824 yds 8 tds. 565 rec yds 2tds.
MJD is now the man in Jacksonville. He no longer has Fred Taylor to worry about, so expect his production to sky rocket. Hopefully Garrard doesn't completely suck and the receivers learn how to catch the ball, so he'll have a little bit of running room. MJD will find his holes regardless, however.
2009 prediction - 1,295 yds 12 tds. 300 rec yds 1 td.
#4 - Matt Forte: '08 - 1,238 yds 8 tds. 477 rec yds 4 tds.
Forte should have an easier time running the ball with Cutler at the helm. Forte averaged nearly 4 yards per carry last year and led all running backs in receptions with 63. He doesn't have the break away speed that you may like, but when you have a running back that gets 300 touches on the ground and has over 60 receptions, that's hard to overlook.
2009 prediction - 1,300 yds 10 tds. 400 yds 2 tds.
#5 - DeAngelo Williams: '08 - 1,515 yds 18tds. 121 rec yds 2 tds.
There is no chance the DeAngelo reproduces the kind of numbers he put up last year. Impossible. However, he did show that when he gets a full load of carries he can produce. Jonathan Stewart still worries me a bit, he did have 10 tds last year. Assuming DeAngelo can get close to the 274 carries he had last season, which he should, he should produce like a top 5 rb.
